AFFILIATIONS: WEF: The Water Environment Federation (WEF) is the preeminent organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the global water environment. It is a not-for-profit technical and educational organization. Its goal is to preserve and enhance the global water environment. Federation members include more than 40,000 water quality professionals and specialists from around the world, including engineers, scientists, government officials, utility and industrial managers and operators, academics, educators and students, equipment manufacturers and distributors, and other environmental specialists. Kirby Mohr is a member of the WEF Industrial Wastes Conference Committee and has been a member of WEF for ten years. ASTM: The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) is the foremost developer and provider of voluntary consensus standards, related technical information, and services having internationally recognized quality and applicability. The standards developed are intended to promote public health and safety, and the overall quality of life; contribute to the reliability of materials, products, systems and services; and facilitate national, regional, and international commerce. Kirby Mohr is a member of the ASTM D19.31 Committee on oil-water separator performance testing and is one of the authors of ASTM Standards D-6104-97 and D-6157-97 on oil-water separator testing. ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) IAPMO: The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials is known best by its acronym, IAPMO. It is an organization composed of thousands of members who are dedicated to effecting, for the sake of greater health protection, a widespread uniformity in the installation of plumbing systems and ensuring the highest quality materials and the best possible training for plumbing personnel and inspectors are available. The Uniform Plumbing Code, published by IAPMO, is the result of many years of research and study by Plumbing Inspectors, Master and Journeyman Plumbers, Contractors, and Representatives of Manufacturers of Plumbing Materials. IAPMO reviews new and innovative products and materials and ensure they are tested against nationally accepted standards. This is done via acceptable, "Interim Guide Criteria" which are created to bridge the gap between product innovation and standard adoption. Kirby Mohr has proposed a "Interim Guide Criteria" for oil water separators for stormwater service which has not yet been accepted by IAPMO.
